Bix Beiderbecke Museum

Visit the Bix Beiderbecke Museum and Archives in Davenport, Iowa for a rare look at the legendary jazz singer. Frankie Trumbauer and Eddie Condon hid liquor bottles in his mandolin, and Pee-Wee Russell hid clarinets in his traveling trunk. A life-size bix Beiderbecke figure was custom-made by an artist in Manhattan from photographs and videos.

The museum’s basement is home to the museum’s collection of personal memorabilia. The new addition to the River Music Experience will open July 24, and it will feature a model of his grandparents’ home, a mandolin with a “hooch hole,” and other memorabilia.
